Little Miss Personality!

You know those days when you wake up and are so tired that you just don't want to get out of bed. Well, after having Emily I have those frequently. I can say with certainty that I wake up more tired now than I ever have in my life. But, I can also say with the same amount of certainty that my God is so good because this is the face of the sweet child that He has, for reasons that I just don't understand, entrusted us with.

I used to hear people talk about how much your life changes when you have children. They would unload lots of the negatives ranging from not having any time with your spouse to exhaustion to frustration over defiance, not to mention the financial responsibility and the weight of knowing another human is completely dependant on YOU!! Why would anyone with any sense of sanity CHOOSE this. These same friends would always follow their groanings with, "but it is totally worth it!"

I never fully understood the fullness of that until Emily came into our world. Every bit of her is totally worth all the trying days. She is incredible. When I wake up and see this face, my exhaustion fades and a new day begins. And, I am reminded again of God's grace and unconditional love that He would choose me to raise this child to serve Him! Where I am uncapable, He is more than able! This day...I am thankful!

i definitely prefer non-grumpy judy booty over "i have had too little sleep, studied way too late, somebody broke Edgar in the dorm AGAIN, no one follows dress-code around here, i worked my butt off digging ditches in Honduras, brett had another soccer game last night, i had to drove from nashville to montgomery 3 times this week," VERY grumpy pants judy. You actually aren't grumpy nearly as much as you say you are...and you know I would tell you the truth!:)
